YOUR TRADEOFFS, CLEARLY
Each line shows that path’s own projected earnings minus its transition costs.
Each path is calculated independently through your selected age. Its projected earnings include income during training plus income after training. Net career value subtracts that path’s direct transition costs and estimated loan interest; it does not force either path to zero or use the other path as its baseline.
Loan interest uses the rate, deferment period, and repayment term you enter. It assumes borrowing is spread evenly during deferment and then repaid with fixed monthly payments. “Today’s value” adjusts each path’s future earnings using your inflation assumption so the result reflects today’s purchasing power. The comparison summary then shows the difference between the two completed calculations. Taxes, benefits, repayment-program rules, investment returns, and career interruptions are not modeled. This rough estimate is not advice, coaching, a recommendation, or a promise of future earnings.
